Job summary

ID Logistics in Scranton is hiring a Yard Controller to promote safety and protect assets. You will monitor alarm and fire systems, inspect the yard and trailers, and document incidents with accuracy while coordinating with the team and management.

The role requires reporting noncompliance, conducting audits, and communicating effectively with customers and associates. A safety/security background and strong documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience in safety, compliance, or security-related field (e.g., Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice).
• One year experience with word processing, spreadsheets and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to read safety policies, write reports, and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Promotes, monitors, and enforces safe work practices and a safe environment by testing alarm/fire systems, inspecting yard areas, and documenting incidents.
• Conduct directed shrink-related audits and report findings to supervisor or manager.
• Follow legal, safety, and security requirements when handling theft or suspicious behavior and document accordingly.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and in writing.
• Monitor environmental exceptions (e.g., Hazmat, storm water) and share policy information as needed.
• Observe and report behavior indicating shrink or security risks and secure merchandise.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance as observed.
• Follow company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
