Job summary

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Yard Associate to perform yard tasks, operate a forklift to move product, and provide friendly customer service in the yard.

Under direct supervision, you will help locate and load materials, check invoices, and maintain stock while observing safety procedures. The role requires OSHA forklift certification and a GED, with at least six months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
• Six months of experience performing yard tasks or similar duties.
• OSHA Forklift Certification (training provided) and experience building frame packs.

Responsibilities

• Lift doors, windows, and materials up to 75 pounds as needed.
• Assist customers in locating and loading product.
• Review material against invoice or requisition and route paperwork.
• Move product around the yard and ensure proper placement.
• Keep inventory stocked and maintain yard cleanliness.
• Follow safety procedures and provide excellent customer service.

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate. Under direct supervision, the qualified candidate will perform a variety of yard activities including, operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to lift doors and windows up to 75 pounds when needed
• Assist customers in the location and loading of product
• Review materials loaded against invoice or requisition; complete and route paperwork appropriately
• Move product/material throughout the yard ensuring placement in correct areas
• Ensure product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times
• Perform routine clean-up of yard
• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers at all times
• All other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Six (6) months of experience with performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
• OSHA Forklift Certification (training is provided) and experience building frame packs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of various types of lumber
• Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
• Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location
• Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions
