Job summary

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Yard Associate to perform yard duties, operate a forklift, and assist customers with locating and loading products.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and OSHA forklift certification (training provided). Candidates should have at least 6 months of related experience or an equivalent mix of training and education, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service in a yard environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience or equivalent training/education.
• OSHA forklift certification (training provided) and experience building frame packs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in locating and loading product.
• Review materials loaded against invoice or requisition; complete and route paperwork.
• Move product/material throughout the yard and stock in correct areas.
• Ensure product/material is well stocked at all times.
• Perform routine yard clean-up.
• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices.
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
• All other duties as assigned.

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate. Under direct supervision, the qualified candidate will perform a variety of yard activities including, operating a forklift to move product and material throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in the location and loading of product
• Review materials loaded against invoice or requisition; complete and route paperwork appropriately
• Move product/material throughout the yard ensuring placement in correct areas
• Ensure product/material is well stocked of inventory at all times
• Perform routine clean-up of yard
• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers at all times
• All other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Clean and valid Drivers License.
• Six (6) months of experience with performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
• OSHA Forklift Certification (training is provided) and experience building frame packs

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of various types of lumber
• Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
• Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of company products/inventory available at work location
