Job summary

Ace Hardware is seeking an hourly yard associate to support store operations and equipment rentals. The role requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude while assisting customers and performing manual tasks. Training provided on software and equipment, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include renting equipment, inspecting returns, answering calls, and helping with in-store sales. Weekend rotation and lifting up to 50 pounds are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Willing to work on a weekend rotation.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds frequently.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Diligent attention to safety.
• Must follow company policies.
• Experience with equipment preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment for incoming rental reservations
• Inspect equipment for damages, check hour meter readings, cleanliness, and fuel level upon return
• Answer incoming rental phone calls
• Prepares rental contracts and obtain proper documentation with use of computers (we will provide training on our software).
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment (we will provide training on the proper use of our equipment).
• Load and unload trailers and trucks
• Execute deliveries and pick-ups
• Ability to safely operate power tools
• Assists with in store sales
• Other manual labor duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license

• Paid overtime during busy seasons
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds frequently
• Must possess the ability to stay on task & complete work in a timely manner
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to follow company policies
• Previous experience in customer service (preferred but not required)
• Experience with equipment (preferred but willing to train)
• The ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
