Job summary

Hinckley Yachts in Groton, CT is seeking a Marine Diesel Mechanic to keep high-performance vessels running at their best. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain engines from Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins and others, using OEM software and a range of hand and power tools.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of marine mechanics experience, the ability to read reports, estimate projects, and work safely in a precision-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of marine mechanics experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license; ABYC certification preferred.
• Must pass a background check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: use OEM software and tools to diagnose and repair marine systems.
• Repairs: perform skilled maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
• Product lines: work on Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety compliance: perform work according to safety standards and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
