Job summary

The Hinckley Company in Southwest Harbor, ME, seeks a Marine Diesel Mechanic to keep high‑performance vessels running at their best. You’ll work with OEM diagnostics, multiple engine brands, and hands-on troubleshooting in a precision‑driven shop.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with diagnostic software, hand and power tools.
• Experience installing marine mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of onboard plumbing and hydraulic installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ability to write condition reports, prepare estimates, and plan projects.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics: Use OEM software to maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.
• Repairs: Perform skilled diagnosis, repairs, preventive maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls.
• Product Lines: Work on Hamilton water jets, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Cummins, Caterpillar, or FPT engines.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure work meets safety standards and guidelines.
• Other: All duties as assigned.
