Job summary

American Family Care Tustin seeks a Radiographer to perform diagnostic imaging and support clinicians in patient care. You will greet patients, position them for exams, and ensure high-quality images are produced for physician review.

Cross-training in Medical Assisting and Front Desk procedures is encouraged. ARRT registration or eligibility and an associate degree in radiologic technology are preferred, with state licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in radiologic technology and ARRT-registered or eligible.
  • Licensed per state regulation; DOT certification not required unless applicable.
  • Experience with medical assisting or reception is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease.
  • Greet patients and explain procedures with compassion.
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging and maintain ALARA practices.
  • Process images and prepare for reading by physicians and radiologists.
  • Cross-train in medical assisting and front desk protocols when needed.
  • Maintain equipment and arrange for repairs as necessary.
  • Support other duties as assigned.

AFC Urgent Care Tustin is equipped with an on-site lab and in-house X-ray capability.

Job Summary

Perform radiographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease. Cross‑trained in Medical Assisting and Front Desk protocols.

Responsibilities
Radiographer Responsibilities
  • Train and review best radiologic practices
  • Greet patients and explain procedures to patients in a compassionate manner
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control and prepare images for reading by a physician as well as radiologist overreads
  • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all policies and procedures
  • Aid physician with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
  • Willingness to cross‑train in other roles as appropriate including medical assisting and reception
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Medical Assisting Responsibilities
  • Front desk protocols and patient satisfaction
  • Experience understanding patient insurance intake and processing
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as‑needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Medical Receptionist Responsibilities
  • Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents
  • Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
  • Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out
  • Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
  • Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests
  • Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports
  • Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports
  • Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school or six months to one‑year related experience and/or training. ARRT‑registered or board eligible preferred. Licensed per state regulation. In some states, Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT or Paramedic certification is acceptable. DOT certification. Experience using Experity EMR is a plus!
