Barnabas Health Medical Group is seeking an X-ray Technician for a multispecialty practice in New Jersey. The role involves supporting physicians, performing diagnostic radiography, and coordinating x-ray film readings.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ARRT and NJ licenses, 1–3 years of x-ray experience, CPR (AHA), knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency with Word and Outlook. This is an hourly position with day shifts and a pay range aligned to New Jersey standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office.
• 1-3 years experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography.
• Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
• CPR certification approved by AHA.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of patients.
• Coordinate the reading of x-ray films with physician.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of x-ray films.
• Prepare patients for physician evaluation.
• Ensure exam rooms and equipment are organized and clean.
• Represent the clinic professionally in person, by phone, and in writing.

Essential Functions

• Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient
• Assists physician with special procedures
• Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician
• Initiating and maintaining correspondence with patients and insurance companies
• Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films to include appropriate log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and accurate filing of films
• Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing
• Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
• Prepares patients for physician evaluation
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations
• Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat and clean
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence
• Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times
• Takes patients’ medical history, information pertaining to the patients’ visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis
