Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Xray Technician for the Multi Specialty HUB Hamilton location. The role requires ARRT license and New Jersey state license, a valid CPR card, and at least one year of radiography experience in a hospital or physician’s office.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assist physician with special radiology procedures
• Coordinate reading of all x-ray films with physician
• Maintain patient communications with insurance and records
• Maintain accurate x-ray film logs and documentation
• Prepare patients for physician evaluation and examinations
• Ensure clean and organized exam rooms and equipment
• Represent the clinic in a professional manner
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Overview: The duties of Technician vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioners specialty.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office
• 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
• Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required
• CPR Certification approved by AHA

Essential Functions:

• Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient
• Assists physician with special procedures
• Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician
• Initiating and maintaining correspondence with patients and insurance companies
• Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films to include appropriate log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and accurate filing of films
• Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing
• Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
• Prepares patients for physician evaluation
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations
• Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat and clean
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence
• Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times
• Takes patients’ medical history, information pertaining to the patients’ visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis
