Job summary

Humbercare Ltd. is seeking a part-time Housing Support Worker to provide intensive housing management for service users referred into the HRS, ensuring compliance with housing benefit exemptions.

You will engage weekly with clients, help them move toward independent living, coordinate with local agencies, and deliver a high-quality service with a person-centred, trauma-informed approach. This role includes weekend rotas and variable hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care or similar environment.
• Knowledge of psychologically informed environments and trauma-informed care.
• Familiar with statutory and voluntary support agencies.
• Person-centred, strengths-based approaches to support and care planning.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork in complex, pressurised situations.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with caseload management.

Responsibilities

• Provide a programme of intensive housing management for referred service users.
• Deliver housing management to individuals with complex needs to prevent homelessness and promote independent living.
• Engage weekly with service users to support independent living in the community.
• Provide high-quality service and be the Humbercare ambassador for customers.

Contract

• 20 hrs Part Time, Permanent, Hours vary across a rolling rota and include weekends

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a programme of intensive housing management to service users referred into the HRS in accordance with housing benefit support exemption requirements.
• To deliver housing management within a service which will individuals with complex needs who suffer severe and multiple disadvantages, to immediately prevent or resolve homelessness and enable them to develop sufficient, independent living skills in order to move-on, sustain a tenancy and live fulfilling lives.
• To engage with service users on a weekly basis to support individuals to maintain and achieve independent living in the community.
• To provide a high-quality service, ensuring outstanding customer service and service delivery by acting as an ambassador for Humbercare and point of contact for customers. Engaging with service users to design services that work for them and utilising resources within the local area to make a real, quality difference to peoples' lives.

Essential Requirements

• Educated to Level 2 Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a social care or similar environment.
• Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma Informed Care Principles and Practice.
• Knowledge of statutory and voluntary support agencies.
• Working knowledge of person-centred, strengths-based approaches to support and care planning.
• Experience of working with others to achieve successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Team working experience, working cooperatively with colleagues in complex, pressurised situations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

Desirable Requirements

• Willing to work towards a recognised housing/care/support qualification.
