Job summary

Summit Health Management in New Jersey is seeking a qualified Radiology Technologist to operate CR/Digital X-ray systems, document patient history, and produce high-quality images for interpretation. You will follow safety standards, maintain equipment, and support PACS/RIS workflows in a busy imaging department.

Requirements include 1-3 years’ radiology experience, NJ DEP license, ARRT registration, and BLS certification.

• Licensed by NJ State DEP.
• Registered by ARRT; BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates CR/Digital X-ray system and imaging equipment.
• Obtains and documents patient history and demographics.
• Ensures proper identification of patient in PACS and follows Doctor’s orders.
• Maintains x-ray room cleanliness and adheres to infection control standards.
• Performs QA/QC checks and reports equipment issues to supervisor.

Assesses patients for potential risk factors.Ensures proper identification of patient and demographics in PACS.Clarifies / follows Doctor’s orders and scans needed information in PACS.Completes procedures within an acceptable time frame.Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation, such as positioning and technique.Maintains x-ray room cleanliness after exam and procedure. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.Performs QA/QC testing based on the frequency required by the StatePrioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.Maintains order and cleanliness in technologist work area.Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.Plans delivery of care according to patient activity and staff competencies.Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.Verifies exams in the PACS system.General Job functions:Directs the daily operations of all radiology functions, in all locations.Demonstrates the ability to make decisions, delegates and assures the welfare of the patients and staff.Maintains equipment records and makes recommendations for replacement of outdated or poorly functioning equipment.Plans and assists in the orientation of new technical staff.Implements and oversees daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control, as mandated by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.Demonstrates understanding and awareness of safety and radiation protectionCancels and reschedules patient appointments as needed.Replenishes and changes supplies in assigned area as needed.Demonstrates understanding of safety, health and moral needs of customers and co-workers.Other job duties as required.Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:1-3 years’ experienceGraduated from an accredited Radiology programLicensed by NJ State DEPRegistered by the American Registry of Radiologic TechnologiesBLS certification/IV certified preferredMaintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systemsThe ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing,Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS SystemsPay Range: $37.69 - $47.12 HourlyThe provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.About Our CommitmentTotal Rewards at VillageMDOur team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
