Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a trained X-ray & Medical Technologist to join our urgent care team. You will capture high-quality X-ray images and document encounters in the EMR with precision, enabling timely follow-up and accurate patient records.

You will perform chest and extremity radiographs within standard times, coordinate with care teams, assist with related procedures, and help maintain QA logs and supply levels.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.
• 4-6 months experience as a X-ray Technologist.
• Explain, process, and position patient for X-ray; adjusting exposure factors as instructed.
• Use beam restricting devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize exposure.
• Perform basic general X-rays of chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, or ankle under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Take high-quality X-ray images following protocol and document encounters in the EMR accurately.
• Perform chest, extremity, spinal, and abdominal X-ray studies within expected times.
• Coordinate with Aftercare and radiologists for follow-up and referrals.
• Assist with related procedures, EKGs, and CLIA-waived tests as trained.
• Maintain QA logs, manage supplies, and train new X-ray techs and scribes.

Determine patient's X-ray needs by reading instructions from physician. Perform basic general X-rays of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, or ankle under supervision of physician. Use beam restricting devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
