VillageMD is seeking a dedicated X-ray Technologist for a CityMD site in New York, NY. The role focuses on producing high-quality radiographs per protocol, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with providers and radiologists.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment. The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited X-ray program and is comfortable handling multiple exam types while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform common X-ray studies (Chest, Extremities, Spinal, Abdomen) within target times.
• Document X-ray results and communicate with Providers and Radiologists.
• Maintain QC logs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot equipment and software issues and notify management as needed.
• Assist with patient flow and sustain clean, safe, and organized work areas.

We are innovating value-based care and leveraging integrated applications, population insights and staffing expertise to ensure all patients have access to high-quality, connected care services that provide better outcomes at a reduced total cost of care.Please Note: We will only contact candidates regarding your applications from one of the following domains: @summithealth.com, @citymd.net, @villagemd.com, @villagemedical.com, @westmedgroup.com, @starlingphysicians.com, or @bmctotalcare.com.Job DescriptionThe X-ray Technologist is responsible for producing high quality radiographs following CityMD X-ray protocols, procedures, and Department of Health regulatory compliance in an efficient and accurate manner.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesPerforming the more common X-ray studies in a reasonable amount of time as suggested below:Chest X-ray: 3 minutesExtremity X-ray: 3-5 minutes per orderSpinal X-ray: 4-6 minutesAbdomen X-ray: 4-6 minutesProperly documenting X-ray studies performed and facilitating the communication between the Provider and Radiologist by using all internal X-ray and care coordination softwareKeeping an accurate record of QC logbooks including pregnancy consent form, daily check off list, patient logbook, repeat/rejects so as to be fully compliant with the Department of HealthTroubleshooting equipment and software malfunctions and informing Site Manager and X-Ray Manager when service needs to be contactedAssisting with patient flow and utilizing the flag system to maintain good communication between all clinical staff membersPerforming vital signs and documenting results in the EMRAssisting with CLIA waived tests, EKGs, splints, sling placement, and proper use of crutchesHelping maintain the cleanliness of the site, including waiting room, exam rooms, labs, common work areas, X-ray suite, and break roomEnhancing the culture of healthcare by providing exceptional patient care, safety, and best practiceQualificationsGraduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist programPreferably 4-6 months previous experience in the fieldStrong communication skills, in order to provide clear instructions to patients on the process of procedures performedThe ability to:perform basic X-rays of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot or ankle o position patients for X-ray, adjust restriction devices and equipment to set exposure factorsdetermine patient's' X-ray needs by accurately interpreting special instructions from the provideruse beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff (ALARA principle)Flexibility with full-time work schedule including weekendsStrong aptitude for detail, organizational skills, problem solving capabilities, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, or with a team of healthcare professionalsHave functional and practical knowledge of various computer systemsHappy, positive, creative thinker, committed to building and maintaining healthy working relationshipsBilingual language skills required or preferred based on-site location.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hirePhysical RequirementsThe job may require lifting light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical or facility supplies).
