Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a PRN X-Ray Technician to join our urgent care network in Texas. The role involves radiology imaging, quality control, and related in-house lab duties, with potential shift flexibility and cross-training for front desk responsibilities.

The position requires a Texas NCT license, BLS within 30 days, and certification in Breath Alcohol and Drug Screening within 3 months. Prior clinical experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is beneficial.
• Must have a Texas NCT license.
• Ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of start date.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
• NCT license issued by the Board of Medical Examiners / Texas DSHS is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and quality radiology procedures for evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.
• Perform quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment.
• Perform in-house lab tests including drug screens and urine analyses; process specimens for reference labs.
• Maintain records and logs for in-house lab work, drug screens, and x-rays sent to other labs.
• Coordinate with Center Manager, Medical Staff, Front Desk and clinic staff to ensure smooth operations and high patient satisfaction.
• Follow occupational client preference cards and procedures.
• Perform routine office tasks: copying, faxing, scanning, mailing, filing.
• Cross-train for Front Desk duties and assist with patient check-in/out and lobby operations.
• May work alternate shifts and float to other clinic locations; assist with general patient care when needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Perform timely and quality radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.
• Perform quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment.
• Perform drug screens, urinalysis and other in-house lab tests including processing specimens for reference laboratories.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and x-rays sent out to other labs.
• Works closely with the Center Manager, Medical Staff, Front Desk Coordinator and all clinic staff to maintain smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
• Ensure occupational client’s preference card is followed and occupational procedures are adhered to.
• Performs routine office functions including copying, faxing, scanning, mailing, sorting and filing of patient and clinic materials as appropriate.
• Is cross trained for Front Desk duties to include greeting patients, checking patients in/out on computer, End of Day close out procedures, patient interactions, lobby checks and records release
• May be required to work alternate shifts and may be required to float to other clinic locations. Assist with general patient care when needed.

You Should Have

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is beneficial
• NCT - A Non-Certified Technician license in Texas
• The ability to obtain a BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion
• NCT License issued by the Board of Medical Examiners/Texas Department of State Health Services is required
