Overview
The X‑Ray Technician provides optimal, patient‑centered imaging and therapeutic procedures, serving as a medical assistant when X‑ray duties are reduced. The role combines technical imaging expertise with supportive medical assistance to promote safety and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Verify client identity and review medical staff orders before beginning x‑ray procedures.
- Provide verbal and/or written instruction to clients.
- Position clients correctly, lifting or moving patients as needed.
- Adjust imaging equipment to the specified position.
- Ensure x‑rays are of sound quality to prevent repeats.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort.
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to self and client.
- Follow correct shielding and safety techniques.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory, checking stock and placing orders.
- Notify management promptly of damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of completed x‑ray procedures.
- Adhere to ethical standards and applicable state and federal laws.
- Log into the radiology site and label exams appropriately.
- Match completed reports with the appropriate chart and place them in the system.
- Compare daily logs with Synapse to ensure all x‑rays have been sent.
- Wipe down all x‑ray equipment and clean films after use.
- May be required to work at other PRIME clinics and on‑site locations.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations.

- Injections.
- EKG examinations.
- Accept rotating 1‑week call coverage.
- Work overtime and holidays as required.
- Dependable transportation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid city, state, or federal license or certification.
- Proven experience as an X‑ray technician.
- Ability to take x‑rays of various body parts.
- Ability to move or lift patients.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality.
- Reliability, punctuality, and teamwork.
- Stress management and independent work capability.
- Adherence to OSHA and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
Physical Demands
Sitting or standing for prolonged periods; lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 125 pounds; repetitive motions; extensive computer and equipment use; adequate visual acuity. Work may require traveling to other clinic locations and delivering supplies.
