Job summary

AVECINA - Heathrow, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a X-ray Technician / Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will perform imaging, collect specimens, update charts and assist with check-in/check-out activities, ensuring smooth clinic flow.

Requirements include 1+ year clinical experience, EHR proficiency, MA program completion, and RT/BMXO/BMO license in the state of residency. BLS and federal screening certifications are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) is required.
• RT or BMXO/BMO license in state of residency is required.
• AAMA certification is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs and IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services per provider's orders and update charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records of in-house and outside lab work.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• You may apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

You should have:

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) or Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BMXO / BMO), license is required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
