Job summary

AVECINA - Daytona Beach, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated X-ray Technician / Medical Assistant to support patient care and imaging services in a high‑volume setting. You will perform vital signs, EKGs, injections, and imaging per physician orders, while updating EHRs and keeping patient records current.

The position requires a relevant MA program completion, radiology license, and BLS within 30 days. A sign-on bonus of up to $3,500 is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) is required.
• RT or BMXO/BMO license required in state residency.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKGs, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.

• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.

• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
