Job summary

MD Now Urgent Care in Tampa, FL is seeking a skilled X-ray Technician / Medical Assistant who delivers patient-centered care and supports team goals. You will perform vital signs, EKGs, injections, X-ray imaging, and documentation in the EHR while maintaining a compassionate bedside manner.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, MA training (BOTP), and RT or BMXO licensing with current BLS certification; familiarity with EHR systems and a positive, collaborative attitude will help you

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) or BMXO/BMO license is required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the AAMA is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• May apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records and logs on in-house lab work and external lab referrals.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
