Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT certification or equivalent certification.
• Valid state licensure as an X-Ray Technician/Radiologic Technologist.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience in outpatient healthcare setting preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience involving direct patient contact preferred.
• Knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, patient positioning, and radiation safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow established protocols, instructions, and safety procedures.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate X-ray equipment to perform diagnostic imaging examinations as ordered by physicians.
• Position patients and adjust imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Explain X-ray procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide reassurance to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
• Evaluate the technical quality of radiographic images and repeat examinations when necessary to obtain clear and accurate results.
• Follow all radiation safety protocols and maintain appropriate radiation protection for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to radiographic examinations and patient information.
• Perform routine equipment quality control and maintenance checks and report equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain knowledge of current radiologic technology, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with specialized procedures or diagnostic testing, as applicable to the practice.
• Identify patients’ chief complaints and document observations accurately in the medical record.
• Assist patients with completing medical history forms and prepare patients for examinations and treatment.
• Perform and document height, weight, vital signs, and vision testing.
• Perform clinical tests and procedures as directed, including EKGs, spirometry, venipuncture, skin punctures, strep screening, glucometer testing, and urine testing.
• Assist with patient examinations and treatments, including injections, wound care, pelvic examinations, minor procedures, and IUD insertions, as applicable.
• Assist with identifying patients’ psychosocial needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Perform patient triage according to established protocols and prioritize patients based on clinical needs.
• Maintain patient flow throughout the office and assist with managing walk-in and scheduled patients.
• Document patient calls and follow up on patient needs, pharmacy messages, and physician orders.
• Transcribe physician orders and prepare appropriate requisitions, forms, and pharmacy communications.
• Notify patients of changes or instructions ordered by the physician.
• Ensure physicians complete required signatures for charts, laboratory results, prescriptions, and diagnostic reports.
• Clean and sterilize equipment and maintain exam rooms, laboratories, and clinical areas with appropriate supplies.
• Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
• Assist one or more physicians as needed to support efficient clinical operations.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Comply with OSHA standards, infection control procedures, and all applicable organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities
