Job summary

CareNow is seeking an X-Ray Tech - Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The role combines limited scope radiology with medical assisting duties and requires strong clinical skills and adherence to imaging orders.

You will take vital signs, perform EKGs, collect specimens, and document in the EHR, while maintaining patient care quality and communication with staff.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
• Experience using an EHR system.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of an approved BOTP program.
• RT or LSO/ LMRT radiologic license in state of residency required.
• Current AAMA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Breath Alcohol and Drug Screening certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services per provider orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records and logs for radiology, in-house lab work, drug screens, and external tests.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

As aLimited Scope Operator/MA, youwill:

• Take vital signs,collectinglab specimens,performingEKG’s, andadministeringIM injections.

You should have:

• 1+yearof clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent isrequired.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) isrequired.
• Radiological Technologist (RT) orLimited Scope Operator(LSO/ LMRT),license isrequiredin state of residency.
• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification isrequiredwithin30 daysof start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
