Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Contraband Detection in Indianapolis, IN. You will use X-ray screening equipment to inspect items, monitor access points, and report security concerns while maintaining a visible presence and delivering professional customer service.

The role is full-time with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and requires a minimum of 1 year in security, with background checks and potential drug screening as part of the employment process.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
• A drug screen may be required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, packages, and other items entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures, documenting and reporting irregularities.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted operational and distribution areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the facility perimeter, loading areas, and parking locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
