Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time) in Indianapolis, IN to safeguard clients across logistics and distribution sites. You’ll operate X-ray screening equipment, monitor access, verify badges, and report concerns while delivering customer service and supporting loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen people, packages, and/or property entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures, documenting and reporting irregularities to site leadership.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct visual inspections of items as assigned, following applicable protocols and escalation procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned logistics and distribution areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
