Job summary

BayCare Health System in Lakeland, FL, is seeking a Basic Machine Operator to support patient care in a high-volume setting. You will assist providers, manage patient histories, perform routine labs and prepare specimens for transport to the lab, while maintaining EMR records and supplies.

The role requires BLS within 30 days of hire and Florida BMO certification, a High School diploma or equivalent, and willingness to work extended hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification or licensure required: BLS within 30 days of hire and Florida BMO.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; medical assistant training preferred.
• Experience in patient care support and EMR documentation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment and x-ray/imaging services.
• Handle patient histories, routine lab procedures and specimen preparation for lab transport.
• Follow up on test orders, report results and provide patient education materials.
• Maintain EMR documentation and medical equipment; order clinical supplies.
• Support front- and back-office duties; travel to other sites as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned; extended hours including evenings/weekends possible.
