Responsibilities

• Perform installation and project coordination at customer sites per OEM specs.
• Complete required regulatory documentation (FDA) and service tickets; manage parts orders.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintain tool and equipment care.

Position Description

Great Lakes Imaging is seeking an experienced X-Ray Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of medical imaging equipment, performing scheduled Planned Maintenance (PM) events, and assisting with installation of imaging systems at customer facilities.

This position is home-office based, serving customers throughout Southeast Michigan. Limited overnight travel for service or training may be required.

• Provide a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering ongoing maintenance, technical support, troubleshooting, and repairs for a range of medical imaging equipment, including:
  • Basic x-ray (stationary and portable)
  • Digital imaging systems
  • PACS and networking environments
  • C-Arms
  • Ultrasound
  • Fluoroscopy systems
• Perform installation of imaging equipment, including project management support, site inspections, coordination with customers and contractors, and ensuring site readiness per OEM specifications.
• Complete all required state and FDA documentation associated with installing radiation-producing equipment.
• Order parts and supplies necessary to maintain assigned equipment and service tickets.
• Maintain full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards.
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation with team members to provide emergency service coverage.
• Complete all required administrative duties, including:
  • Service ticket closure
  • Time sheet submission
  • Expense reporting
  • FDA reporting
  • Radiation badge compliance
  • Care and maintenance of tools and test equipment
• Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: AA degree in Electronics

Experience

2-3+ years of experience in the Medical Imaging Field Service industry with proven skills in diagnosing and repairing medical imaging systems. Training and experience with the following OEMs are a strong plus:

• Carestream Medical Imaging Systems
• Quantum Medical Imaging
• Canon RadPRO Portables and In-Room Systems
• Del Medical
• Summit / Amrad Medical Imaging

A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong computer proficiency including Windows and networking fundamentals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and OEM personnel
