Join to apply for the X-Ray/CT Tech role at Daviess Community Hospital

The X-Ray/CT Tech will perform quality radiologic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs. The role is responsible for providing consistently high levels of customer service and continuous quality improvement (CQI).

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing all aspects of patient care to optimize patient safety and radiation protection and reduce the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Consistently informing and preparing patients and family for radiographic/CT exams.
  • Practicing effective medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Providing care appropriate to condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
  • Assessing patient pain interfering with imaging procedures - making appropriate adjustments in technique and when necessary, contacting physician for intervention.
  • Selecting equipment, positioning, and radiographic technique to provide the highest quality images.
  • Verifying exams are of good quality, identified and marked correctly, and repeating poor quality images.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in performing advanced radiographic examinations such as: intravenous pyelograms, tomograms, and joint injections and utilization of the C-Arm in surgery.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in operating computerized radiography and PACS systems.
  • Consistently providing complete and appropriate exam related paperwork and completing exam in HIS and PACS systems.
  • Assisting in maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Taking an active role in training of students and ancillary personnel. Providing close oversight and instruction as needed or requested.

Qualifications:

  • X-Ray certification
  • Current Indiana licensure
  • One (1) year of CT experience preferred OR willing to obtain CT Certification within 12 months of hire
  • Must be a dependable team player with the capability to multi-task
