Job summary

Tyvan LLC seeks a dedicated Radiology Technologist (CT X-ray Tech) to operate CT scanning equipment and capture high-quality diagnostic images. Qualifications

  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures and reassure them.

Job description

CT/X-Ray Technician

We seek a dedicated Radiology Technologist (CT X-ray Tech) to operate our CT scanning equipment and capture high-quality diagnostic images. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient positioning, equipment maintenance, and ensuring strict compliance with hygiene and infection control protocols. The Radiology Tech will also monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions to contrast agents.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize computerized tomography equipment to obtain detailed images of internal organs and tissues.
  • Position patients accurately for scans to target specific body areas.
  • Regular warm-up procedures should be performedon the CT scanner to enhance the lifespan of the X-ray tubes.
  • Sterilize and maintain radiologic equipment to uphold patient safety standards.
  • Interpret and follow thephysician’s written scanning instructions accurately.
  • Administer radiocontrast agents as needed to improve imaging quality.
  • Assess CT scans for technical quality and report any inconsistencies or deficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide reassurance, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the scanning process.
  • Monitor patients for allergic reactions or complications during procedures and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain an inventory of radiologic supplies and report shortages or needs to the supervisor.

Required Training and Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in each modality is preferred.
  • One year of experience in an emergency room (ER) hospital setting is preferred.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, along with one year of related experience and training.
  • Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association.
  • Multi-modality Technologists must have certifications in two (2) or more modalities: radiology (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or have completed a relevant cross-training program.
  • Must be aware of potential exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong technical proficiency in operating CT scanning equipment and related technology.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach in dealing with patients.
  • Ability to stay current with advances in radiologic technology and protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills for evaluating images and ensuring quality.
