Job summary

Marshall County Hospital District in Benton, KY is seeking a CT Technologist - X-ray Tech for a full-time weekend schedule. The role involves interpreting orders, explaining procedures to patients, positioning for precise imaging, and administering IV contrast to enhance imaging results.

Responsibilities include image review for quality, maintaining patient records, and keeping CT equipment clean and ready. Friday through Sunday, 6 am–6 pm shifts, with occasional X-ray duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in radiologic technology and KY licensing.
• ARRT certification and active BLS required.
• Valid Kentucky Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT registration.
• Experience with CT imaging and contrast administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders for CT scans.
• Explain CT procedures to patients.
• Position patients for optimal CT images.
• Administer IV contrast as prescribed.
• Examine images for quality and usability.
• Update patient records and maintain logs.

JOB DISCRIPTION AND DUTIES

• Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional
• Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients
• Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images
• Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging
• Examining images to ensure they’re usable
• Updating patient medical information
• Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment
• Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required

Position is for Friday, Saturday and Sundays 6 am-6 pm

Will also help with X-rays as needed

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES

• Deep familiarity with CT scan equipment
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, biology and how to administer IVs
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with CT scan equipment performance
• Observational skills to notice any problems with images
• Strong oral communications skills to field patients’ questions and collaborate with other members of the care team
• Organizational skills to maintain an orderly supply area
• Mathematics skills to assist with contrast administration and maintain inventory
• Computer skills to operate CT scan equipment, use e-mail and update medical records using health information systems software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree or equivalent in radiologic technology
• Valid Radiologic Technologist license from the state of Kentucky
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current BLS Certification
