Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support operations across Wyoming, including Gillette facilities and a Casper branch. The role is based in Gillette, with up to 35% travel to mine sites and customer locations, coaching teams on safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years practical EHS experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or mining sectors.
• CSP or CMSP designation preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR) related to General Industry and Mining.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to lead change management and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to deliver, implement and refine regional and site EHS policies and practices.
• Oversee EHS activities and ensure compliance with national, customer and Komatsu standards.
• Coordinate safety training for Gillette & Evansville facilities and manage training scheduling.
• Investigate incidents and lead serious incident investigations when needed.
• Collect and analyze EHS metrics; drive pollution prevention and waste minimization.
• Perform regular safety inspections on shop floors, fields and customer sites, coaching on safe work practices.

Education

B.S. degree in Safety, Health and Environmental Management or related field
