Job summary

The City of Winchester is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Facility Supervisor to oversee daily operations on an assigned shift at the Winchester facility. You will supervise staff, monitor equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of related wastewater experience; Virginia Class 1 Wastewater Works Operator license and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED is required and five years of related experience and/or training in a wastewater treatment facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the continuous operation and maintenance of the facility and subordinate personnel on an assigned shift.
• Makes operational checks on equipment and performs necessary tasks to correct any problems encountered.
• Makes determination of chemical adjustment necessary for efficient and economical treatment.
• Assists with or performs equipment maintenance.
• Performs general housekeeping duties which include but are not limited to floor maintenance, washing windows, painting, mowing grass, trimming hedges, containing weeds, cleaning equipment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Possession of a valid and appropriate driver’s license. Possession of a valid Class 1 Wastewater Works Operators License from the State of Virginia, Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.
