Job summary

Qualifications

• OSHA Hazwoper training (40-hour) preferred.

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Ground / Water Treatment & Technology (GWTT) is looking to add an Industrial Licensed Operator to our growing Operations & Maintenance Services Team. The right individual will be dependable, initiative‑taking and a collaborator with excellent communications skills.

All candidates should have a minimum of 6+ years of relevant Process and/or Water Treatment experience, demonstrated good critical thinking skills, and effective communication skills. A valid wastewater license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personal safety record and comply with all project/site safety requirements.
• Ensure performance and compliance of the treatment systems with respect to permit equivalencies.
• Interact with client organizations, including engineering departments, site managers, and consultants.
• Train, direct, and coordinate the work of other operations and maintenance staff; oversee subcontractors and vendors.
• Use computer‑based maintenance program; prepare basic reports and communications; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Lead troubleshooting and emergency response efforts.
• Prepare Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) as required.
• Record operational data, meter, and gauge readings on specified forms.
• Operate, inspect, adjust, and monitor process equipment, meters, gauges, and controls to detect problems, maintain proper equipment operation and system performance on air, water, groundwater, wastewater, industrial wastewater, and leachate systems.
• Collect process and groundwater samples; perform low‑flow groundwater sampling; conduct sample collection and process control testing and field testing of water, soil and air samples as required.
• Maintain consistent production quality and work records.
• Perform preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools and/or precision equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines and requirements.
• Add and adjust the dosing of process chemicals such as acids, bases, oxidizers, polymers, and coagulants using mixers, pumps, and metering devices.
• Respond to alarms for emergencies at various facilities/systems.

Requirements

• Current Industrial Wastewater Operator’s License or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in industrial wastewater operations.
• Understanding of major mechanical equipment and ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Good working knowledge of physical and chemical treatment processes; additional experience with biological systems preferred.
• OSHA 40‑hour Hazwoper certificate/8‑hour refresher preferred.
• Flexible work schedule; overtime and weekend shifts may be occasionally required.
• Reliable transportation.

Physical Job Requirements: The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
