Responsibilities
- Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
- Provide coordinated patient care, including assessment, rehabilitation interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team.
- Apply research and proven techniques to diagnose, prevent, and treat movement and function limitations, with supervision and consultation.
- Oversee supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.
- Participate in departmental goals and contribute to hospital objectives.
- Supervise physical therapy students and volunteers, and provide supervision of therapy assistants per regulatory standards.
- Submit accurate charges for services via the billing system and EMR.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
- Current or temporary licensure in West Virginia or applicable state; permanent licensure within 90 days.
- Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in acute care, outpatient, SNF, or home health settings.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift and move patients, with safe patient handling practices recommended by NIOSH.
- Work requires strength and stamina for lifting, moving, and standing, with ability to lift over 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities needed include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage patient care effectively.
