Job Description

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure
  1. Current or temporary physical therapist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed.
  2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.
  2. Applies research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body's ability to move and function in daily life, as monitored by supervision, documentation review, and consultation with M.D.
  3. Oversees supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.
  4. Participates in meeting the goals and objectives of the work unit and department to contribute to the hospital's organizational goals.
  5. Supervises physical therapy students and volunteers, and provides supervision of therapy assistants in accordance with regulatory standards.
  6. Submits accurate charges for services rendered for patients, according to departmental policies and procedures, utilizing the billing system via the patient's EMR.

  1. Minimize manual patient handling to 35 pounds, using lift equipment and/or patient handling aids as indicated.
  2. Work requires strength and stamina, including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.
  3. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
