Job Summary

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
• Current or temporary licensure in West Virginia or applicable state. Permanent licensure within 90 days of employment.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year experience in settings such as acute care, outpatient, SNF, or home health.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide coordinated patient care including assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team.
• Apply research and proven techniques for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of movement and functional limitations, under supervision and in consultation with MDs.
• Oversee supervision of PTAs, rehab techs, students, and volunteers.
• Participate in departmental goals and initiatives to support hospital objectives.
• Supervise physical therapy students and volunteers; supervise therapy assistants according to standards.
• Accurately bill for services using the EMR system.

Additional Requirements

• Complete annual education for specialty accreditation if applicable.
• Meet physical demands, including lifting up to 35 lbs manually and 40+ lbs with equipment, and perform tasks requiring good vision and stamina.
• Work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals.
• Organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet patient care goals.
