The attorney will handle a full spectrum of general litigation cases, lead depositions, draft briefs, and coordinate defense strategies with a collaborative team. Qualified candidates hold WV bar admission in good standing, a law degree, 2–7 years of general litigation experience, and strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in West Virginia in good standing.
• Degree from an accredited law school.
• 2–7 years' general litigation experience.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the client through the litigation process including depositions and courtroom strategies.
• Provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal policy; develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues.
• Conduct and coordinate research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle all details related to trial or depositions.
• Independently manage case timelines and deadlines.
• Represent the client or its officials in various legal proceedings.
• Prepare for trial including taking and defending depositions, written discovery, and other case preparation.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, position statements, stipulations, and all types of motions.
• Write and administer complex legal arguments and defend such in court.
• Counsel clients on creation of sound operating policies, procedural improvements, and related agreements to avoid future litigation.
