Job summary

The University of Pikeville is seeking an experienced TCDM Tutor to support TCDM students in approved subjects. You will help students become independent learners and apply effective study strategies under the course director's advisement.

Ideal candidates are current KYCO/KYCOM students with a B (85%) in the relevant courses, strong communication, and a passion for peer mentoring. This position is funded as IWS and features flexible hours across the summer, fall, and spring terms.

Qualifications

  • Current KYCO and KYCOM student with Dean approval.
  • Minimum grade B (85%) in relevant courses to be tutored.
  • Strong communication and passion for mentoring peers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tutoring services to TCDM students in approved subjects.
  • Facilitate academic success and promote effective study strategies.
  • Maintain FERPA confidentiality and uphold professionalism.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor.
  • Promote organized note-taking and study planning.

Provide tutoring services to TCDM students in approved subjects, facilitating academic success and promoting effective study strategies. Ideal for experienced students with strong communication skills and a passion for helping peers succeed.

Responsibilities And Career Competencies
  • Guide and support students in becoming more successful, independent learners – C, P, CTR
  • Help students master course concepts and applications under advisement of the course director – CT, C
  • Integrate effective study strategies and promote academic success – CT, P
  • Encourage systematic approaches to studying – C, CSD
  • Use effective and respectful communication skills with diverse individuals – C, CTR, P
  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisor. – C, TW, L
  • Abide by FERPA regulations and uphold confidentiality at all times – P
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication – C
  • Utilize organized note-taking and academic documentation – T, C
  • Establish positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff – TW, CTR
