Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to tutor students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Teach writing skills needed for independent living to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through individualized sessions, group workshops, and/or tutorial sessions.
• Create authentic lesson plans using real-life scenarios.
• Create assessments to measure student skills pre- and post-tutoring sessions.
• Engage students in creative ways to increase their skills.
• Utilize multimedia tools.
• Assess each student’s needs and develop an individualized tutoring plan to meet each student’s needs.
• Document student participation in tutoring and their progress.
• Establish and maintain an accurate filing system and a typed guide to office files and their location.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of student and staff records.
• Prepare routine, special, and ancillary reports as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.
