Job summary

St. Charles Community College (SCC) is seeking an Academic & Success Coach to guide students through the EXCELerator program and campus resources. This role provides tutoring and mentorship to help students build essential academic and career-ready skills.

The coach collaborates with faculty to design workshops, track progress, and connect students with counseling, financial aid, advising and student services, promoting retention and success across the SCC community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in English/Composition, Literature, Secondary Education.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in academic coaching/tutoring, teaching, or job training.
• Strong customer service background and excellent communication.
• Ability to work independently and cross-departmentally.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic coaching and tutoring.
• Serve as a campus mentor/navigator for SCC Students.
• Develop learning strategies, study skills, time management, and organizational skills.
• Assist with workshops, events, and program development.
• Monitor progress and report outcomes to faculty and administration.
• Connect students with counseling, financial aid, advising, and other resources.
