New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking a Writing Center Tutor to support undergraduate and graduate students with writing and communication projects. You will also mentor peer tutors, helping them develop mentoring and tutoring skills.

The role is part-time, pays $30 per hour, and emphasizes collaboration with the Writing Center team to improve student outcomes and strengthen writing across the campus community.

Position Summary:

Writing Center tutors work with undergraduate and graduate students on writing and communication projects. They also mentor peer tutors.

Essential Functions:

• Tutoring graduate and undergraduate students, mentor peer tutors.

Pre-Requisite Qualifications:

• Experience teaching, writing, and/or editing.

Compensation:

• $30 per hour

At the university’s discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
