Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Writing and Language Tutor- Institutional Student Worker. This short term position (maximum 15 hours) supports the development of a program to train tutors to work with non-native English speakers. Participants will review short video scripts and training materials, and serve as actors playing the role of writing tutors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide written and oral feedback on scripts/training materials.
• Revise scripts as needed.
• Portray writing center tutors or multilingual clients in up to 8 short videos (each video will be 3-6 minutes long). All filming will occur on the Gainesville campus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Native-proficiency in a language other than English is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
• Tutoring experience in writing or foreign languages.
• Editorial experience.
