Job Opportunity: Writer for Society & Culture Team at PEOPLE

This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer and will receive a W2 for tax purposes.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST
• Location: Remote
• Pay rate: $30 per hour
• Duration: 3 months, with potential extension

Responsibilities & Expectations

1. Write 5-7 stories daily, including breaking news and longer features.
2. Maintain a vast knowledge of internet culture, TikTok trends, and popular influencers.
3. Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to breaking news, producing clean copy rapidly.
4. Understand the PEOPLE voice and audience, and convert social media posts into engaging news stories.
5. Be an experienced interviewer with the ability to find original angles on features.
