  • Experience with employer branding, employee advocacy, or social media content strategy a plus.
  • Bilingual – fluency in Spanish preferred, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, edit, and publish content for internal communications channels, including intranet, email, Slack, and text messaging.
  • Support employer brand on Glassdoor and Indeed, curating content and monitoring reviews for leadership insights.
  • Develop employee advocacy initiatives on LinkedIn and external platforms in coordination with Marketing.

Internal Communications Specialist

The Internal Communications Specialist reports to the Strategic Projects Manager and serves as Staff & Cultural Development's (SCD) dedicated communications lead, keeping Full Sail employees informed, connected, and engaged through clear, timely messaging and compelling storytelling. This position drives internal communications across Full Sail One and employee email. They also support Full Sail's employer brand and employee advocacy efforts on platforms such as Glassdoor, Indeed, and LinkedIn. Exceptional writing and editing skills, strong relationship-building skills, and meticulous attention to detail are critical to success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, write, edit, and publish content for internal communications channels, including Full Sail One (intranet), email, Slack, and text messaging, ensuring all messaging is consistent across mediums and reflects the Full Sail voice and brand standards.
  • Support Full Sail's employer brand on Glassdoor.com and Indeed.com, curating and posting content that showcases the faculty and staff experience and monitoring reviews and activity to share insights with SCD leadership.
  • Develop and support employee advocacy initiatives on LinkedIn and other external platforms in coordination with Marketing, creating shareable content, toolkits, and guidance that empower faculty and staff to amplify Full Sail's culture, stories, and opportunities through their own networks.
  • Serve as SCD's primary liaison to the Marketing team, bridging internal and external communications to ensure messaging, branding, and storytelling are aligned; collaborate on shared content, campaigns, and creative needs, and keep both teams informed of upcoming initiatives.
  • Curate, build, and distribute On the Radar, Full Sail's weekly employee email newsletter, coordinating content submissions from departments across the university.
  • Research, interview, and write spotlight features on faculty, staff, and teams, as well as recap stories from on- and off-campus events.
  • Draft, build, and deliver employee emails and emergency/priority communications using Eloqua, Outlook, and other enterprise communication systems, following established review and approval protocols; occasionally support communications on behalf of other departments as needed.
  • Maintain the SCD email inbox, monitoring, triaging, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner and routing requests to the appropriate team members.
  • Partner with the Strategic Projects Manager to develop and execute communications plans for SCD programs and initiatives, including but not limited to New Employee Orientation (NEO), Navigator School, Hall of Fame staff programming, leadership trainings, recognition ceremonies, and The President's Message.
  • Maintain the internal communications calendar, coordinating the timing of messages across channels and departments; track communications deliverables in Monday.com in alignment with SCD's master project tracker.
  • Attend and support SCD events and programs, both in person and online, capturing notes, interviews, and content for follow-up communications.
  • Submit and manage production requests for graphics and creative assets that support written communications (email banners, thumbnails, etc.), maintaining branding consistent with organizational standards.
  • Partner with SCD's Data & Reporting Analyst to collect data and report on internal communications, employer brand, and employee advocacy reach and engagement; use results to recommend data-informed improvements that increase employee engagement.
  • Research external best practices and emerging trends in internal communications to continually evolve SCD's approach, identifying opportunities to innovate and integrate new technologies and tools that improve how employees receive and engage with information.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and stakeholders and adjust communications content and approach accordingly.
  • Design and deliver presentations related to internal communications as needed.
  • Research external best practices in project management, organizational development, and strategic planning to inform SCD's approach.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

  • Experience with employer branding, employee advocacy, or social media content strategy a plus.

Computer/Equipment Skills
  • Office 365 (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, and other social and employer-brand platforms
  • Experience with Eloqua or a comparable email marketing platform preferred, with the ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to learn and utilize internal project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com)
  • Proficiency with Grammarly and other digital tools that support the writing process
  • Familiarity with Full Sail One and Workday, with a willingness to learn increased functionality
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands

Work is performed in a professional office environment. Occasional physical activities may be required, including bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 30 pounds.
