Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University seeks a wrestling program coordinator to oversee academics, operations, travel, recruiting and overall program management. The role reports to the Head Wrestling Coach and contributes to planning events and fundraising.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and collegiate involvement; NCAA rules knowledge and willingness to work evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred.
• Complete NCAA Coaches Certification Curriculum within first two weeks of employment.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and odd hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop performance standards for student-athletes to maximize potential.
• Assess athletic performance and provide feedback on progress.
• Develop and implement practice plans and strategies for athletic events.
• Recruit potential student athletes.
• Provide academic monitoring and support for student athletes in the program.
• Supervise NMHU athletic events and enforce sportsmanship standards.
• Assist with game management for home events when not competing.
