Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a middle school wrestling head coach for the 2026/27 winter season. The role is a 0.5 FTE, with practices scheduled Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 PM.

The position focuses on skill development, safety, and student-athlete growth within the school program. Responsibilities include leading daily practices, enforcing eligibility and district rules, and coordinating with the athletic director.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience.
• Experience presenting drills, safety factors, and proper skills application.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with sport-specific techniques through clinics and literature.
• Explain eligibility rules and district policies to participants.
• Promote the program and encourage student participation.
• Hold daily practices with attendance records and safety demonstrations.
• Lead safety training, basic first aid, and injury response procedures.
• Attend required meetings and manage equipment and facility safety.
