Job summary

Pocatello/Chubbuck School District No. 25 is seeking an athletic coach for Irving Middle School. The role focuses on developing student-athletes, promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while supporting the athletic program under the athletic director and principal.

Requirements include Idaho Teacher Certification or NFHS/ASEP certified, plus experience as a player and/or coach. Internal candidates encouraged; please include a resume and two letters of recommendation signed.

Qualifications

• Idaho Teacher Certification or NFHS/ASEP certified.
• Previous experience as a player and/or coach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relations with student-athletes and build high participation numbers.
• Cooperate with the administration and keep them informed about program concerns.
• Build a strong coaching staff with defined responsibilities that works well together.
• Promote the athletic program by supporting other coaches and their programs.
• Maintain excellent relationships with staff, booster club, parents, and community.
• Strive to fit in with the school and help achieve its goals in athletics.
• Provide supervision for student-athletes at all times during participation.
• Ensure proper use and care of equipment and uniforms, including inventory records.
• Skillfully manage the sports budget, including funding requests and fundraising.
• Coordinate scheduling, transportation, fundraising, eligibility, facilities, and IHSAA reporting.
