Job summary

Pocatello/Chubbuck School District seeks an Athletics/Activities/Tennis - Assistant Coach at Century High School to guide student-athletes in developing competitive skills, discipline, and teamwork. The role reports to the Athletic Director and Principal and emphasizes program development and positive student engagement.

Responsibilities include maintaining relationships with stakeholders, coaching staff leadership, program promotion, and ensuring compliance with policy while supporting school

Qualifications

• Idaho Teacher Certification or NFHS/ASEP certified
• Previous experience as a player and/or coach

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relations with student-athletes and build high participation in the program each year
• Cooperate with administration and inform about program aspects, especially concerns
• Build a strong coaching staff with defined responsibilities and mutual support
• Promote the athletic program by supporting other coaches and programs
• Maintain excellent relationships with staff, booster club, parents, and community
• Fit in at school and help achieve overall school goals
• Put together a successful all-around sports program with solid philosophy and region/state competitiveness
• Teach and demonstrate knowledge of sport skills and game strategy
• Develop student-athletes and team physically and emotionally
• Maintain discipline and teach sportsmanship, citizenship, and fair play
• Motivate student-athletes to perform their best
• Demonstrate organizational skills to run the program smoothly
• Provide proper supervision for student-athletes at all times
• Take steps to prevent, care for, and report injuries with trainer
• Adhere to IHSAA, district, school, and athletic policies
• Manage equipment and uniforms inventory and care
• Skillfully manage the sports budget and fundraising
• Work with activities director and secretary on scheduling, busing, eligibility, facility use, IHSAA reports
