Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc in Johnstown, OH, is seeking a Wrapper Operator to join the production team. You will safely operate manufacturing equipment, follow directions, and contribute to high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong safety mindset, good communication, and manufacturing experience. Starting wage is $18.00 per hour, with benefits on day one and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be self-starting and able to work independently.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency to complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Good communication skills including the ability to interact with other levels of management and staff.
• Industrial manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Must be flexible on shift as overtime is required.
• Must pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate manufacturing equipment and follow directions.
• Lead run changes, plate and ink setup, and machine operation.
• Visually inspect plates, inks, and materials; remove defects.
• Maintain daily production log and assist wrapper with pallet tags.
• Meet piece rates of 8000-12000 per day or 18-26 cases per hour.
• Perform end-of-shift and weekly machine cleaning; keep area neat and organized.
• Communicate effectively in a noisy production environment.
• Report machine problems to maintenance and lead.
