Job summary

UAH Early Learning Center in Alabama seeks a Wraparound Classroom Assistant and Daytime Floater to support the 8:00 am - 2:30 pm program and wraparound hours (7:00 - 8:00 am and/or 2:30 - 5:30 pm). Responsibilities include caregiving, meal support, and classroom assistance under the lead staff.

The role involves assisting with activities, ensuring safety, and coordinating with child care teams while maintaining positive family communication.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Willing to pursue CDA certification or 12 credit hours of Early Childhood coursework.
At least 2 years of full-time, verifiable work experience in any field.
Experience working with young children.
Must be able to adhere to the assigned work schedule reliably and on time.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Must meet DHR License-Exempt qualifications.

Responsibilities

Maintain safety of children at all times.
Assist in diapering, feeding, and basic care.
Lead wraparound program activities during wraparound hours, mornings and afternoons.
Prepare lesson materials and organize classroom resources.
Coordinate with lead staff and supervise on-call workers.
