Job summary

University of Alabama in Huntsville is seeking an After School Care Assistant for the UAH Early Learning Center in Alabama. The role reports to the Director and supports the Lead Childcare Assistant in planning, maintaining a safe classroom, and executing daily activities during daytime and wraparound hours.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with young children, and strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Experience working with young children.
• Reliable and punctual with the assigned work schedule.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Must meet DHR License-Exempt hiring qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of children at all times.
• Interact with the children during learning/free-choice time and gross motor time.
• Assist the lead teacher in preparation and implementation of classroom activities.
• Assist in management and organization of center resources.
• Interact frequently and positively with all children.
