Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Raritan, NJ is seeking a Wound Closure and Healing R&D Device Summer Intern for May–August 2027. The intern will support the development of smarter, less invasive surgical technologies and assist in prototype device assembly, CAD drawings, and test documentation.

You will participate in mechanical/lab testing, data analysis, and cross-functional team reviews while gaining exposure to regulatory-compliant design activities and health tech innovation.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year is required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Biomedical, Bio-engineering, or related fields.
• GPA 2.8 or higher.
• Knowledge of CAD Software, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Attend team meetings as necessary.
• Perform mechanical and laboratory testing, and post-testing analysis.
• Communicate business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
• Assist in assembly of prototype devices.
• Create/Update parts, assemblies and drawings in CAD (SolidWorks).
• Write reports, test methods, protocols and other design control documentation.
• Complete engineering activities for multiple projects.
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties assigned as needed.
