Job summary

Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Wound Care team. The role focuses on complex wound management, wound VAC therapy, ostomies, and skin and tissue care in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, pursue evidence-based practice, and develop individualized care plans for diverse patient populations. Applicants must hold an RN license, WOCN certification within 2 years, and have 3–5 years of direct care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of work (or compact state).
• WOCN certification preferred within 2 years of hire.
• 3–5 years of direct nursing care experience in wound/skin care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan care for ostomy and wound care patients.
• Identify interventions for skin breakdown and complex wounds.
• Perform stomal marking preoperatively and educate patients and families.
• Monitor high-risk patients and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with medical staff to prevent pressure ulcers and manage wounds/fistulae.
• Evaluate outcomes of WOC interventions and update guidelines.
